How I Can Help.
I work alongside people – not as an expert on their lives, but as a professional coach who helps them slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and identify practical ways forward that feel doable and aligned.

I am an ICF (International Coaching Federation) accredited and registered coach. I work in two areas:
*Helping parents and their adolescent children work together to understand and appreciate each other enough to want to help each other, and
*Supporting people who, although they are in / have undergone professional mental health treatment for depression, still feel stuck in limbo, self-doubt, fatigue, hopelessness, anxiety and intense emotions.
Our Lives
I am 57 years old. I have walked this road. I have lived it. I am not a therapist or psychologist. I am a qualified, experienced, and professional coach, and student at the University of Real Life. I help and support people in finding their own forward-looking practical strategies to achieve their goals.
I am married to Vanessa, and have three children – Samuel (18), Ariel (20), and Taylor (26), from two different biological mothers, Julia and Debbie. Together we continue to muddle our way through the adolescent-parent experience. There is no need to tell you how challenging this is or describe the difficult scenarios we continue to navigate. You know. When we meet, we will have a good chat about it. It has not been easy, to say the least. But with love, commitment, dedication and support for each other in our own ways, we are all still standing. Actually, standing quite strong! Through all of it, our biggest lesson has been to stop, suspend judgement, listen to appreciate, and commit to helping each other with simple practical strategies that make the world of difference.
Besides being a parent of three adolescent children, my personal story includes major depressive disorder, chronic anxiety, addiction, divorce, unemployment, and bankruptcy. I have also experienced joy, success, meaningful connection, career achievement, love, vitality, adventure, and good health.
Vanessa and I live in Wilderness, a small beachside village on the Garden Route in the Western Cape, South Africa. We have a beautiful 11-room guesthouse on the beach, Mes Amis Beach Guesthouse (check it out if you like at Mesamis.co.za). Taylor works in the field of holistic wellness in Cape Town, Ariel is studying at the University of Cape Town, and Samuel is doing a hospitality internship at a hotel resort in the Caribbean.
I have a BA Degree in Human Movement Studies and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education, I am a qualified ICF-accredited Master Coach (through InnerLifeSkills International), I have a Brown University certificate in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and a Yoga Alliance certificate in Mindfulness. I have worked with private individuals, corporate teams and leaders worldwide for over 30 years, assisting and supporting them in discovering and living more of their personal and leadership potential
